Bitcoin Crashes Below $112K After $1.7B Long Liquidations — Key Support Fails

Bitcoin plunged below the $115,000 support level, sliding to around $111,760, as over $1.7 billion in long positions were liquidated across the market. This sharp drop comes amid Fed uncertainty and inflation fears.

Bitcoin fell to $111,760 on September 22, 2025, breaking a major support barrier around $115,000. The slide came with a massive wave of liquidations, as more than $1.7 billion in long-trades across the crypto derivatives market was wiped out. Over 400,000 traders were affected as the overall market cap plunged by $77 billion in a single day. 

Technical analysts emphasize that this break of support could signal deeper downside if BTC fails to reclaim $112,000 quickly. Resistance now resides near $117,200—if that level holds, recovery might be possible; if not, a further drop toward $108,000-$110,000 zones may follow. 

Contributing factors include profit-taking by institutional players after recent highs, along with worries about upcoming Federal Reserve commentary and inflation data. The U.S. dollar’s strength and macro risk aversion added fuel to the downside. 

Market sentiment remains mixed: although many expect volatility ahead of fresh U.S. PCE (Personal Consumption Expenditures) inflation data and speeches from Fed officials, the immediate outlook leans toward bearish if support at $112,000 cannot hold. Traders are watching for clues in macroeconomic releases later this week.
