Bitcoin falls below $75,000 as tech stocks rebound after jobs data

Bitcoin fell below $75,000 on Nov. 6, declining to $74,762 after the U.S. trading session began, according to Cointelegraph market data. The reported level was Bitcoin’s lowest since Aug. 21, 2026.

The decline came as U.S. technology stocks moved higher. Cointelegraph reported that the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.8% during the first hour of Friday trading while Bitcoin weakened.

The market move followed the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ October employment report. The agency said nonfarm payroll employment increased by 165,000 during the month and the unemployment rate held at 4.1%.

The data prompted market discussion about potentially tighter Federal Reserve policy. Expectations for a December rate increase are a market interpretation, however, rather than a confirmed Federal Reserve decision.

October jobs report shows payroll growth

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that U.S. nonfarm payroll employment rose by 165,000 in October. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1%.

The agency also revised the combined payroll gains for August and September upward by 84,000. The revisions add to the employment picture considered by markets following the October report.

Bitcoin diverges from the Nasdaq

Bitcoin’s move below $75,000 occurred while the Nasdaq Composite rose in early U.S. trading, highlighting a divergence between the cryptocurrency market and technology equities during the session.

Cointelegraph reported Bitcoin at $74,762 after the session began. That observation describes the reported market level and does not establish a single cause for the decline.

Investors were also weighing the implications of the employment figures for interest-rate expectations. A stronger policy outlook is an interpretation of market participants, not a Federal Reserve announcement.

Market context remains in focus

The payroll release provides a fresh macroeconomic data point for markets assessing the path of U.S. monetary policy. Bitcoin’s intraday weakness and the Nasdaq’s early advance showed that risk-sensitive assets did not move in lockstep during the reported period.

Related Bitcoin market developments, including fund-flow data and exchange-market infrastructure, remain separate factors from the employment report and should not be treated as confirmed explanations for this price move.
