Kraken launches Anthropic pre-IPO trading challenge with up to $20,000 USDG in prizes

Kraken has launched the Anthropic Pre-IPO Challenge, a trading competition for eligible Kraken Pro users centered on the ANTHROPICx perpetual futures contract.

The challenge began on September 17, 2026, at 00:00 UTC and is scheduled to end on October 17, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. Participants can trade the contract with up to 10x leverage.

The competition begins with a $10,000 USDG prize pool. Kraken said the pool can rise to $20,000 USDG if combined community trading volume exceeds $100 million.

ANTHROPICx is a derivatives product designed to provide price exposure to Anthropic. It does not give traders equity ownership in Anthropic.

Competition period and contract

Eligible users may participate through Kraken Pro during the stated competition window. The challenge uses the ANTHROPICx perpetual futures contract, with leverage of up to 10x available.

Perpetual futures are derivatives rather than shares. In this case, trading ANTHROPICx provides exposure to price movements associated with Anthropic, but it does not confer an ownership stake in the company.

USDG prize pool can double

Kraken set the initial prize pool at $10,000 USDG. The exchange said it will increase the pool to $20,000 USDG if total community trading volume during the challenge exceeds $100 million.

The volume threshold makes the final pool contingent on aggregate activity, rather than solely on an individual participant's trading results. Traders considering leveraged perpetual futures should understand the product terms and associated risks.

The promotion is the latest Kraken Pro-focused trading initiative listed by the exchange. Kraken has also previously run a Pro Prop Sweepstakes tied to its trading platform.

The Anthropic challenge differs from spot trading because it is based on a perpetual futures contract. Participants should not treat the contract as a route to acquiring Anthropic equity.
