Glamsterdam Upgrade on Hoodi Testnet Postponed

The Ethereum Foundation announced on October 22 that the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet has been postponed.

The activation had been scheduled for October 26, 2026, at 17:42:48 UTC, corresponding to epoch 132,352. That schedule is no longer in effect.

No replacement activation date, epoch, or timestamp has been set. The announcement concerns Hoodi and does not establish a date for a Glamsterdam mainnet activation.

Scheduled Hoodi activation removed

The postponed Hoodi upgrade had included Amsterdam execution-layer and Gloas consensus-layer activations. The associated schedule for a 200 million gas limit has also been removed.

Further review of EIP-8037 interactions

According to the Ethereum Foundation, the delay is intended to allow further investigation of interactions between EIP-8037 and mainnet smart contracts.

The announcement does not provide a revised timetable. Until a new activation is set, there is no confirmed Hoodi epoch or UTC timestamp for Glamsterdam.

Testnet delay does not set mainnet timing

Hoodi is a testnet, and the postponement applies to its planned Glamsterdam activation. It should not be read as a confirmed schedule for deployment on Ethereum mainnet.

The Foundation’s update leaves the next Hoodi activation details to a future announcement.
