Ethereum Schedules Glamsterdam Upgrade for Hoodi Testnet on October 26, 2026
The Ethereum Foundation has scheduled the Glamsterdam network upgrade for activation on the Hoodi testnet on October 26, 2026.
The planned activation is set for 17:42:48 UTC, corresponding to epoch 132,352 and slot 4,235,264. Hoodi’s gas limit is also scheduled to rise to 200 million at that epoch.
Glamsterdam includes enshrined proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists, and revisions to gas pricing and state-growth accounting.

The Ethereum Foundation published its Hoodi testnet announcement on October 16, 2026. The stated schedule places Glamsterdam’s activation at epoch 132,352, slot 4,235,264, on October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC.
Client configuration work also identifies the same activation point and the concurrent 200 million gas-limit setting for Hoodi.

What Glamsterdam includes

These changes are scheduled for testing on Hoodi under the announced configuration. The available announcement does not establish a date for deploying them to Ethereum mainnet.
The testnet milestone follows other Ethereum Foundation work on protocol design, including its exploration of native transaction assertions for enforcing transaction outcomes.

The Hoodi schedule should not be read as a mainnet activation timetable. The Ethereum Foundation and the Glamsterdam planning material both state that a mainnet activation date has not yet been decided.
Further testnet results and protocol coordination may inform later scheduling decisions, but no such timeline is included in the published announcement.
The update arrives amid continuing Ethereum ecosystem development, including the Foundation’s introduction of zkAPI for private, unlinkable API payments.
