Kraken launches USDG futures challenge with gold, RWA and crypto volume multipliers

Kraken has announced its USDG Futures Challenge, a trading promotion scheduled to run from October 12 through December 10, 2026.

The challenge uses a single leaderboard based on weighted trading volume, rather than traders’ profit and loss. Participants must be enrolled to be ranked.

Its reward pool can reach $5 million USDG if the community reaches the promotion’s highest weighted-volume tier.

Volume multipliers determine leaderboard weighting

Kraken applies different multipliers to futures trading volume depending on the market category. Gold futures volume receives the highest weighting, followed by real-world-asset futures, while crypto futures volume is counted at its stated volume.

The structure means leaderboard standings are based on the weighted total produced by these multipliers, not solely on raw trading volume.

• Gold futures: 3x weighted volume
• Real-world-asset futures: 2x weighted volume
• Crypto futures: 1x weighted volume

Top reward tier requires $18.5 billion in weighted volume

According to Kraken, the reward pool can rise to $5,000,000 USDG when community weighted volume reaches $18.5 billion. The announcement frames this as the top tier of the promotion.

The challenge is another futures-focused campaign from the exchange. Kraken has also previously launched a Pre-IPO Challenge for selected perpetual futures contracts.

Eligibility restrictions apply

The promotion excludes clients in the United States, United Kingdom, European Economic Area, Switzerland, Canada and Australia.

Potential participants should review Kraken’s promotion terms and eligibility requirements before taking part. Trading futures involves risk, and the challenge’s ranking method is based on volume rather than trading performance.
