U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs post $643.2M in net outflows
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $643.2 million in net outflows on Friday, October 30, according to Farside Investors. The result was the largest daily outflow for the products since June 25.
BlackRock’s IBIT recorded the largest withdrawal total at $233.7 million. Fidelity’s FBTC followed with $201.0 million in outflows, while ARKB and GBTC posted $129.5 million and $53.3 million, respectively.
CoinDesk, citing SoSoValue data, reported a closely matching $643.3 million figure. The $0.1 million difference appears to reflect a minor discrepancy between data providers.

The flow total came after a Binance security incident reported on October 29. Binance said its hot wallets were compromised and that approximately $6.3 billion in token assets were lost, but the available evidence does not establish that the incident caused the ETF withdrawals.
Largest reported fund outflows
IBIT and FBTC accounted for more than two-thirds of the $643.2 million total reported by Farside. ARKB and GBTC were also among the funds with reported net withdrawals during the session.
The figures describe net flows into and out of the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF products, rather than direct changes in Bitcoin’s price or a measure of investment performance.
- IBIT: $233.7 million in net outflows
- FBTC: $201.0 million in net outflows
- ARKB: $129.5 million in net outflows
- GBTC: $53.3 million in net outflows
Effect on year-to-date flows
CoinDesk reported, based on SoSoValue data, that the withdrawal reduced the funds’ prior year-to-date net inflow of just over $1 billion by 63.6%. That calculation is attributed to the cited data provider.
The daily result underscores how large fund-flow moves can materially alter cumulative totals when year-to-date net inflows are relatively limited. It does not, by itself, identify the reason investors redeemed or added shares.

Binance incident and attribution
Binance said hot wallets were compromised around October 29 at 20:05 UTC and reported approximately $6.3 billion in lost token assets. The exchange’s disclosure is a separate confirmed event from the ETF flow data.
Market sources cited by CoinDesk connected the timing of the security incident with the ETF outflows. However, timing alone does not demonstrate causation, and no supplied evidence independently confirms that the incident drove redemptions.
Security developments can affect market attention, but readers should distinguish confirmed disclosures from explanations for investor behavior. Relatedly, see Coinbase says Amplitude incident exposed some customer contact information.
