Amdax Unveils AMBTS—A Bitcoin Treasury Firm Aiming for 1 % of BTC, IPO on Euronext

Dutch crypto provider Amdax is launching AMBTS B.V., a regulated Bitcoin treasury company, with ambitions to accumulate 1 % of total Bitcoin supply and list on Euronext Amsterdam.

Amsterdam-based crypto services firm Amdax has unveiled plans to launch AMBTS B.V. (Amsterdam Bitcoin Treasury Strategy), a dedicated Bitcoin treasury company structured with independent governance. The company aims to list on Euronext Amsterdam, offering institutional investors a regulated vehicle for exposure to Bitcoin. The long-term goal is bold: acquiring at least 1 % of all Bitcoin in circulation, amounting to roughly 210,000 BTC, or around $24 billion at current prices.

This initiative comes as institutional and governmental demand for Bitcoin surges—now exceeding 10 % of the total supply, according to Amdax CEO Lucas Wensing. He asserts that the convergence of regulatory clarity under frameworks like MiCA and heightened inflation makes this moment ideal for launching a European equivalent of a corporate Bitcoin treasury.

AMBTS will initially raise capital from private investors via a staged fundraising strategy, deploying proceeds directly into Bitcoin accumulation. Eventually, the firm aims to transition to public markets, increasing shareholder equity and Bitcoin-per-share value. As a standalone entity, AMBTS will benefit from Amdax’s robust infrastructure and regulatory compliance, including MiCA licensing and registration with the Dutch Central Bank.

Amdax’s move has been likened to a European counterpart of MicroStrategy, which remains the largest corporate holder with over 629,000 BTC. AMBTS’s ambition to reach 1 % of total supply would position it among the largest Bitcoin treasuries globally.
