Corruption Exposed: TON Society Faces Backlash Over Alleged Abuse of Funds

Allegations of corruption and intimidation at the TON Society Hackathon have sparked outrage as the leadership faces calls for accountability.
The TON Society, once seen as a beacon of collaboration in the blockchain world, is now at the center of a growing scandal. Maks Twain, founder of CATS, has alleged that TON Society leaders misused community funds to hire security guards with explicit instructions to block his participation at a recent hackathon in Warsaw. The situation escalated when Maks was physically attacked during the event, allegedly for exposing corruption involving stolen project funds.
At the heart of the controversy is Eugene Anisei, TON Society’s European Growth Lead, who Maks claims orchestrated the intimidation tactics. The funds, which were meant to support community innovation, were allegedly diverted to suppress dissent and silence whistleblowers like Maks.

“These funds belong to the community,” Maks stated. “They were never meant to be used as a tool for personal vendettas or to shield those in power from accountability.”
The incident has ignited widespread calls for an independent investigation into TON Society’s financial practices. Many within the community are demanding immediate action to ensure transparency and prevent further misuse of resources.
