Solana CEO Dodges Service in Pump Fun Lawsuit Nine Times

Solana CEO Anatoly Yakovenko has avoided nine separate attempts to be served in a lawsuit linking the memecoin platform Pump Fun to a fraudulent casino scheme, forcing plaintiffs to seek alternative methods of service.

Solana CEO Anatoly Yakovenko has repeatedly evaded attempts to be served legal papers in a lawsuit accusing him of participating in Pump Fun’s alleged fraudulent casino operations. Law firms Burwick Law and Wolf Popper, representing plaintiffs in the case, recently filed an amended lawsuit naming Solana Labs, Jito Labs, their respective executives, and related foundations as defendants.

The serving process began last week, with Solana Labs and Jito Labs successfully receiving service. However, Yakovenko, fellow Solana co-founder Raj Gokal, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu, Jito CEO and COO Lucas Bruder, and Brian Smith have so far avoided being served. The Jito Foundation also remains unserved, despite its close ties and shared leadership with Jito Labs — a structure plaintiffs argue was intentionally designed to create an illusion of decentralization and sidestep U.S. regulatory scrutiny.

Yakovenko, reportedly living in a luxury San Francisco apartment, avoided three service attempts on August 5. Burwick Law says these failed due to the building’s secured nature and Yakovenko’s lack of response. The firm has made six unsuccessful attempts to serve the Jito Foundation, even though Jito Labs — which it considers closely linked — has already been served.

As delays mount, Burwick Law is requesting an extension and permission to serve the remaining defendants via email, postal mail, direct messages on X, and through Jito Labs’ legal counsel. If granted, the firms will gain an additional 20 days to complete service.
