Italy Banca Sella to Launch Bitcoin Trading for 1.3 Million Customers

Banca Sella will soon offer Bitcoin trading to its 1.3 million customers via the Hype mobile platform, marking a significant step toward mainstream cryptocurrency adoption.

Banca Sella, one of Italy oldest financial institutions, is preparing to bring Bitcoin trading to over 1.3 million customers, marking a historic moment in the bank’s evolution. The bank plans to offer this new service through its mobile banking platform, Hype, which has become a popular digital service in Italy since its inception as a joint venture between Banca Sella Holding and Illimity Bank in 2021.

Initially, the Bitcoin trading feature will be available to a select group of Hype Plus (premium) customers during a beta testing phase. However, Banca Sella has announced that within a few days, all customers will gain access to this feature, allowing them to trade Bitcoin directly through the Hype app without needing to rely on external exchanges.

This move by Banca Sella signifies a substantial shift toward the mainstream acceptance of cryptocurrency. By offering Bitcoin trading within a traditional banking framework, the bank is paving the way for broader adoption of digital assets in the financial sector.
