Ton Ventures launches a $40M fund to support early-stage crypto projects, aiming to create billion-dollar firms within the Telegram ecosystem.
Ton Ventures, led by Ian Wittkopp and Inal Kardan, has debuted with a significant $40 million fund aimed at nurturing early-stage crypto startups. This initiative is poised to drive the development of the next wave of Telegram-integrated applications. By focusing on the Ton ecosystem, the fund will provide up to $500,000 in support for innovative projects, particularly those enhancing online financial transactions. Wittkopp and Kardan, who previously held key roles at Ton Foundation, now envision this fund catalyzing the creation of billion-dollar enterprises across various sectors like decentralized finance, gaming, and regulated financial products.

The Ton ecosystem, already benefiting from its integration with Telegram, is expected to see substantial growth through this fund. Games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin have gained popularity as mini apps on Telegram, although challenges such as bot activity remain. Wittkopp, however, remains optimistic, noting that mechanisms are in place to mitigate such issues, ensuring a cleaner, more competitive environment within the Ton ecosystem.
