Hamster Kombat Airdrop Only Allotted to 129 Million Genuine Users Amid Controversy

Hamster Kombat’s airdrop has left players frustrated, with only 88.75% of their HMSTR tokens available immediately, and the rest locked for 10 months. Out of 300 million players, 129 million qualified for the airdrop, while 2.3 million were disqualified for cheating.

In a recent announcement, Hamster Kombat, the popular Telegram-based game, revealed key details of its much-anticipated HMSTR token airdrop, leaving many players frustrated with unexpected restrictions. Players will only be able to claim 88.75% of their token allocation initially, while the remaining 11.25% will be locked for 10 months, with full release scheduled for July 2025. This move has sparked discontent among users who were expecting full access to their tokens on the day of distribution.

The total allocation for the Hamster Kombat airdrop is 60 billion HMSTR tokens, with another 15 billion reserved for the game’s upcoming Season 2. The Season 1 snapshot has already been created and will be used as the basis for token distribution at the Token Generation Event (TGE) on September 26, 2024. This will also mark the first time the HMSTR token value is revealed as it begins trading on The Open Network (TON).

Cheating Concerns and Player Disqualification
The game, which has amassed 300 million players, faced further controversy due to its anti-cheating measures. Of the total player base, only 129 million users qualified for the airdrop, with 2.3 million accounts banned for cheating. Those disqualified received a humorous in-game notification: “Achievement Unlocked: Cheating is Bad,” reminding players to maintain fairness.

Despite the developers’ efforts to maintain integrity in the token distribution, players expressed dissatisfaction with the rigid referral and key-earning criteria, which were seen as unfair compared to other airdrops like Catizen’s.

With a snapshot of Season 1 finalized and tokens set to be distributed, Hamster Kombat is gearing up for its next phase, with players eagerly awaiting the start of Season 2 after an “Interlude Season.”
