Peter Brandt Opens Up About ETH Critique and Seeks New Platforms for Trading Content
Veteran trader Peter Brandt reveals a more nuanced stance on Ethereum, while expressing dissatisfaction with the X platform and exploring new channels for sharing his trading insights.
Peter Brandt, a legendary figure in the trading world with decades of experience since the 1970s, is well-known for his strong opinions on various cryptocurrencies. While he has been a vocal supporter of Bitcoin and Solana, his critiques of Ethereum (ETH) have often sparked heated debates within the crypto community. However, in a recent post on the X platform, Brandt made a “full disclosure” that may come as a surprise to many.

Despite his frequent jabs at Ethereum, Brandt clarified that his disdain for the second-largest cryptocurrency is not as intense as it may appear. He explained that much of his criticism stems from interactions with what he terms “ETHaholics,” who he describes as some of his most persistent trolls on the platform. This, he admits, has prompted him to retaliate whenever the opportunity arises.
In a tweet earlier this week, Brandt further stirred the pot by declaring Solana (SOL) as a “clear winner” over Ethereum. He praised Solana for its user-friendly nature and solid foundation, while criticizing Ethereum as “cumbersome, expensive, flawed, and falsely claiming decentralization.” Brandt even predicted that Solana could gain 100% on Ethereum in the coming months.
Beyond his views on cryptocurrencies, Brandt has also expressed growing frustration with the X platform (formerly Twitter), where he has been sharing his trading content. He voiced concerns about declining engagement, particularly with what he calls “real traders,” and criticized X’s algorithms for reducing the reach of his posts since late 2022. Citing these issues, Brandt announced that he is actively seeking alternative platforms to continue sharing his insights with a more engaged audience.
Among the options Brandt is considering are YouTube for video content, public blogs, Discord, Substack, LinkedIn, and other platforms where he hopes to avoid the troll-infested environment he has encountered on X. As he values his time more than ever, especially given his advancing age, Brandt is determined to find a space where he can connect with fellow traders without the distractions of online negativity.
