Bitmine adds 27,562 ETH, taking reported holdings near 5.98 million

Bitmine Immersion Technologies said it acquired 27,562 ETH during the week preceding its September 21, 2026 announcement. The company reported that the purchase lifted its ether holdings to 5,983,940 ETH.

Based on Ethereum’s stated supply of 122.1 million ETH, Bitmine said its holdings represented about 4.9% of the supply. The company used an ETH price of $2,688 in its announcement.

CoinDesk estimated the latest acquisition at about $75.2 million using a reported Monday ETH price of $2,727. The different valuation reflects the price reference used in each report.

Reported balance sheet position

Bitmine reported $17.1 billion in combined crypto, cash, marketable securities and other investments. That figure included $714 million in cash and marketable securities.

The company’s reported ETH balance is central to its stated asset position. Its announcement described the 5.98 million ETH total as the result of its latest weekly acquisition and prior holdings.

Institutional exposure outlook

That outlook is the company’s view, not a confirmed forecast of market flows or ETH prices. The reported purchase provides a measure of Bitmine’s own current exposure to ether.

Ethereum context

The update arrives as Ethereum development work continues ahead of the planned Glamsterdam testing process. Separate protocol changes can affect the network independently of corporate treasury activity.

Bitmine’s filing-style announcement focuses on its reported asset holdings and institutional outlook, while Ethereum’s development roadmap remains a distinct technical track.
