Solana Introduces Microscope for Program Monitoring and Alerts
Solana has announced Microscope, an open-source and self-hosted monitoring and alerting tool for Solana programs.
The tool is designed to decode program instructions and events through an interface definition language, or IDL, then convert that activity into Grafana dashboards and alerts.
Microscope is intended to give program operators visibility into on-chain activity as well as the condition of the monitoring system itself. The announcement adds a monitoring-focused tool to Solana’s developer infrastructure.

The launch follows other recent Solana network-development updates, including the Solana Changelog Lists Alpenglow Devnet Gate and New Software Releases.
How Microscope processes program activity
Microscope uses an IDL to decode instructions and events associated with a Solana program. It then turns the resulting activity into Grafana dashboards and alerting workflows.
This approach is aimed at making program-level activity easier to observe without relying only on raw transaction data. The tool is self-hosted, meaning operators can run the monitoring setup themselves.
Alert delivery and multisig monitoring
Solana said Microscope can send alerts through Slack, Telegram and PagerDuty. These channels can be used to surface conditions identified by the monitoring setup.
The tool can also monitor activity involving Squads multisigs. That capability extends its coverage beyond program instructions and events to include multisig-related operations.

Monitoring the monitoring pipeline

Microscope includes health alerts for failures or disruptions in its own monitoring pipeline. Solana identified stalled streams, stale RPC polling, corrupt checkpoints and records that do not reach Loki among the conditions it can flag.
These alerts are distinct from program-activity monitoring because they focus on whether the collection and delivery pipeline is functioning as expected. In operational terms, this can help users identify gaps in the monitoring system itself.
Context within Solana’s tooling updates
The Microscope announcement is a developer-tooling update rather than a change to Solana’s core network rules. It provides a monitoring option for teams operating programs and related infrastructure.
Solana’s ecosystem has also continued to add application and asset-related initiatives, including Open USD Launches on Solana With Fee-Free Minting and Redemption. Microscope is focused instead on observability, alerts and operational health.
