Solana Changelog Lists Alpenglow Devnet Gate and New Software Releases

The Solana Foundation has published its weekly engineering changelog dated October 1, 2026. The update summarizes changes across the network’s client software, developer tooling and program libraries.

Among the items highlighted in the changelog is Alpenglow, which is listed as a notable feature gate on Devnet. The listing indicates that the feature is being tracked in Solana’s development-network environment.

The release roundup also includes new versions of Agave, Firedancer, Superbank, Web3.js and Solana Kit. Multiple Solana SDKs and programs are included in the update as well.

Alpenglow appears in Devnet feature-gate update

The changelog identifies Alpenglow as a notable Devnet feature gate. Devnet is used for development and testing, so the entry should not by itself be read as confirmation of a mainnet deployment.

The Foundation’s update provides a single engineering reference point for changes being introduced or tracked across Solana’s development stack.

Client and tooling releases listed

The October 1 changelog records releases for Agave and Firedancer, two components associated with Solana client development. It also lists a new Superbank release.

On the developer-tools side, the update includes releases for Web3.js and Solana Kit. These projects are used by developers building applications and integrations for the Solana ecosystem.
