Tron Surpasses Ethereum in 90-Day Revenue, Driven by Strong USDT Settlements

Tron network revenue exceeded Ethereum by 50% over the past 30 days, with a 90-day revenue of $435 million compared to Ethereum $364 million, signaling strong growth in the Tron ecosystem.

The Tron network has outpaced Ethereum in revenue over the last 24 hours, 30 days, and 90 days, according to data from Token Terminal. Tron generated $1.31 million in revenue in just the past 24 hours, pushing its 90-day revenue to over $435 million—surpassing Ethereum’s nearly $364 million during the same period. Tron’s founder, Justin Sun, highlighted that the network’s revenue surged by 50% in the last 30 days compared to Ethereum, and projections indicate that Tron could reach over $2 billion in annual revenue.

Data from DefiLlama shows that Tron generated $152 million in fee revenue in the past 30 days, nearly 50% higher than Ethereum’s $96 million. This significant increase in revenue is partly attributed to the strong performance of USDT settlements on the Tron network, which reached over $1.25 trillion in Q2 2024, nearly matching Visa’s settlement volume for the same period.

Despite this success, Tron is currently the second-largest blockchain for stablecoin transfer volumes, behind Solana. Justin Sun has noted that Tron’s gas-free peer-to-peer stablecoin transfers could enhance the network’s viability for corporate settlements, small payments, and international remittances.
