Tron Network Set for Major Upgrade: Lower Fees and Boosted Throughput Ahead

Justin Sun announces significant changes to the Tron network, including a 25% energy cap increase and a 50% reduction in energy costs, expected to boost transaction volumes by 200%.

The Tron network is preparing for a transformative upgrade that promises to reduce fees and enhance transaction throughput, according to Tron founder Justin Sun. Starting next week, discussions will begin on how best to implement these major changes aimed at improving the overall efficiency of the network.

One of the key changes includes a 25% increase in the network’s energy cap, raising it from 120 billion to 150 billion per day. This will be coupled with a 50% reduction in the cost of energy, lowering it from 420 SUN to 210 SUN. These updates are designed to enhance the efficiency of staking TRX, allowing users to generate more energy at a lower cost. As a result, operating expenses across the network will be significantly reduced.

These changes are expected to have a considerable impact on the Tron ecosystem. Currently, the network processes around 7 million transactions daily. With the new updates, this figure could potentially soar by 200%, reaching up to 20 million daily transactions, a volume similar to what is currently seen on the Solana network.

The proposed improvements will not only lower costs for Tron users but also pave the way for greater adoption, as the network becomes more competitive in handling large transaction volumes while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
