Shiba Inu Puppynet Gets Ethereum-Based Upgrade for Faster, More Secure Transactions

Shiba Inu Layer-2 scaling solution, Shibarium, will undergo a major upgrade to improve Puppynet, its testnet. The upgrade will integrate Ethereum best practices, enhancing transaction speed, security, and scalability, potentially boosting SHIB token burn rates.

Shibarium, the Layer-2 solution within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, is about to receive a significant upgrade aimed at increasing its security, scalability, and overall performance. Lucie, the Shiba Inu marketing executive, announced that the upgrade would focus on Puppynet, Shibarium’s testnet, and is scheduled to take place this Friday at 2:30 a.m. ET at block 4,697,000.

The upgrade will include the Bor update to version 1.3.7-bone-beta and the Cancun hard fork. These changes will incorporate Ethereum’s Geth software, which brings advanced features to Puppynet. According to Lucie, “This upgrade is for Puppynet and it’s very important for developers! We’re rolling out some awesome changes that will make things run smoother, faster, and safer.”

Key Features of the Upgrade:

• Faster Transaction Speeds: By integrating Ethereum’s core software, Geth, Puppynet will see improved smart contract execution, more efficient peer-to-peer networking, and quicker block propagation.
• Enhanced Security: The upgrade will include new security measures such as improved error handling, vulnerability patches, and bug fixes.
• Optimized Gas Fees: The system will reduce gas fees, making transactions on the network more affordable.
• Cross-Chain Asset Transfers: Strengthening the network’s proof-of-stake bridge will enable smoother cross-chain asset transfers between Shibarium and other blockchains.
• Efficient Disk Space Usage: Puppynet will prune historical block data, ensuring the network remains lightweight as it continues to grow.

Post-upgrade, users will experience faster transactions, enhanced security, and stable cross-chain transfers, all while benefiting from more affordable gas fees. Lucie believes that these upgrades will lead to greater adoption of Shibarium and may significantly increase the burn rate of SHIB tokens, potentially boosting the coin’s ecosystem value.

This update is just one of many efforts to advance the SHIB ecosystem, with future plans including the introduction of decentralized governance as part of Shiba Inu’s overall growth strategy.
