1.7 B XRP Clustered at $2.81 Support — A Pivotal Moment for Ripple’s Price Action

Whales have amassed approximately 1.7 billion XRP at the $2.81 level, marking a critical support zone that could determine the next major price move for the token.

According to Glassnode data highlighted by U.Today, approximately 1.7 billion XRP tokens have been accumulated by holders at the $2.81 level—a zone now seen as make-or-break support for Ripple’s native cryptocurrency. This concentration of supply, visible through cost basis distribution analysis, underscores the significance of that price floor to market structure.

In addition to the substantial cluster at $2.81, another noteworthy supply buildup is observed around $3.26, where over 1.05 billion XRP tokens are held. Significantly, the $3.57–$3.58 range shows extremely low accumulation—only about 2.9 million tokens—highlighting a thin liquidity zone that could act as a breakout corridor if XRP can clear the resistance overhead.

Despite showing strong upward momentum earlier in July, XRP has recently struggled to regain its bullish trajectory. Derivatives metrics reflect this cooling momentum: CoinGlass reports a 44% drop in trading volume and an 82% decline in open interest for XRP derivatives.

Currently, XRP trades around 15% below its July 18 peak of $3.67. Notably, however, the token has still gained over 50% year-to-date, outperforming Bitcoin’s performance. A sharp decline below the $2.81 level could negate that resilience and lead to renewed downside pressure, while a successful defense could serve as springboard toward reclaimed upside.
