Bitcoin Could Hit $150K in 2025—Canary Capital CEO Predicts Bull Run Before 2026 Dip

Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg believes Bitcoin has over a 50% chance of reaching $140K to $150K by year-end before a potential bear market arrives in 2026.

Bitcoin may still be on the rise, according to Steven McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital. Speaking with CNBC, McClurg expressed strong conviction that BTC has better than even odds of climbing into the $140,000–$150,000 range this year. However, he also cautioned investors to be prepared for a downturn in 2026.

“This isn’t just hope—it’s quantitative confidence,” McClurg said. “There’s a greater than 50% chance Bitcoin hits $140K to $150K this year before the next bear market.”

Bitcoin is currently flirting with fresh all-time highs—recently setting a new peak of $124,128—thanks to rising institutional ETF inflows and surging involvement from sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and corporate treasuries that increasingly view BTC as a strategic asset. “These inflows are creating a higher Bitcoin price,” McClurg observed.

Still, he warned that Bitcoin’s momentum doesn’t equally apply to Ethereum. Though ETH enjoys strong recent gains, McClurg remains uncertain about its staying power amid changing macro conditions.
