BitMine has quietly accumulated over $821 million worth of Ether (ETH) this quarter, increasing its total crypto holdings to $13.4 billion and signaling ambitions to control nearly 5% of Ethereum’s circulating supply.

Institutional whale BitMine Immersion Technologies has announced a significant expansion of its ETH reserves, adding $821 million in Ethereum to its corporate treasury. According to a recent filing and CoinDesk’s coverage, this latest purchase brings its total digital and cash holdings to $13.4 billion, making BitMine one of the largest corporate holders of ETH globally.

The company’s aggressive move comes as Ethereum’s on-chain fundamentals remain strong, with staking yields steady above 3.8% and daily active addresses nearing 640,000. BitMine’s executives described the accumulation as a “strategic long-term positioning in the decentralized economy.”

The firm aims to secure about 5% of the total ETH supply by 2026, positioning itself as a liquidity and validator powerhouse across decentralized finance (DeFi) networks. Market analysts suggest this may reduce exchange float and further tighten ETH’s circulating availability — potentially supporting higher long-term prices.

As institutional participation in Ethereum expands, BitMine’s move mirrors the early Bitcoin accumulation cycles seen among corporate giants like MicroStrategy and Tesla.
