Elon vs. Trump: $2.5T Deficit, EV War & Epstein Rumors Collide in “Big Beautiful Bill” Feud

Elon Musk and President Donald Trump are clashing over a controversial spending bill, with accusations flying on social media and dark hints about hidden Epstein files. The political and economic stakes have never been higher.

Elon Musk has launched a fierce counterattack against President Donald Trump following Trump’s strong defense of a Republican-backed tax and spending bill dubbed the “big beautiful bill.” The legislative dispute, paired with a shocking Epstein-related allegation, marks a deep rupture between two of America’s most prominent power players.

During a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office, President Trump expressed disappointment in Musk for criticizing the bill. He even went so far as to imply that the U.S. might reassess its business relationships with Musk’s companies.

“I’m very disappointed with Elon,” Trump said. “I’ve helped him a lot. He knew the inner workings of the bill better than anybody sitting here. He had no problem with it. All of a sudden he had a problem & he only developed the problem when he found out we’re going to cut EV mandate.”

Trump was referring to the electric vehicle (EV) mandates—government programs that offer tax incentives for purchasing electric cars, many of which directly benefit Tesla, Musk’s flagship automaker.

Musk fired back on X (formerly Twitter), denying Trump’s claims. “This bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it,” he stated. Musk later reposted commentary supporting his position and even highlighted a claim suggesting Trump owed his electoral win to Musk’s backing.

Labeling the bill as “The Big Ugly Bill,” Musk warned it would push the U.S. deficit to a staggering $2.5 trillion. In turn, Trump responded on Truth Social: “Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”

Musk swiftly rejected Trump’s statement, calling it entirely false. But he didn’t stop there.

In a dramatic escalation, Musk publicly suggested that Trump’s name appears in sealed Epstein investigation files and hinted that this might explain why those documents remain classified. “The truth will come out,” Musk urged.

While no proof has been provided, Musk’s statements could ignite political and legal firestorms if verified—especially given Trump’s past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Musk’s core issue with the bill appears rooted in concerns over deficit inflation and economic sustainability. Trump, on the other hand, views it as a vital step toward financing federal operations and driving national growth.
