According to blockchain analytics platform Spot on Chain, a mysterious whale has been amassing large quantities of WBTC, purchasing 347 WBTC worth $20 million in a single day. Last week, this whale accumulated a total of 1,953 WBTC, valued at $118 million, from Binance at an average price of $58,853 per Bitcoin.

These substantial transactions have led many in the crypto space to speculate that Justin Sun and his team may be linked to the exchange of Bitcoin for Wrapped Bitcoin. The timing of these transactions is particularly intriguing, as it comes on the heels of BitGo’s announcement earlier in August. BitGo, the company behind WBTC, revealed plans to transfer control of the token to a joint venture that includes Hong Kong-based investment manager BiT Global and the Tron ecosystem, which is led by Sun.
