Hut 8, one of the leading North American cryptocurrency mining companies, has announced a strategic partnership with Bitmain, a prominent hardware manufacturer for mining, to develop a cutting-edge ASIC miner model. The U3S21EXPH will be the first miner by Bitmain to incorporate liquid chip cooling technology, which promises to significantly enhance the efficiency and scalability of mining operations.

This collaboration, unveiled on September 19, signals the launch of a next-generation mining device designed to improve thermal performance and extend the operational lifespan of the machine, ensuring more stability and efficiency for large-scale mining operations.

Features of the U3S21EXPH

The upcoming U3S21EXPH ASIC miner will feature a hashing power of 860 TH/s with an energy efficiency rating of 13 J/TH. The liquid chip cooling system is the primary innovation in this model, helping to regulate temperature and enhance operational longevity.

Hut 8 intends to implement the U3S21EXPH miner by the second quarter of 2025, with a vision of increasing its managed hash rate from 18.5 EH/s to an impressive 33.5 EH/s, an 80% growth in computing power. The company is focused on achieving this milestone as part of its larger strategy to expand its data center footprint.
