Tokocrypto Secures Pivotal Crypto Exchange License in Indonesia

Tokocrypto, a Binance subsidiary, has successfully obtained a full license as a Physical Crypto Asset Trader from Indonesia Bappebti, becoming the third fully licensed crypto exchange in the nation.

In a significant development for the cryptocurrency landscape in Indonesia, Tokocrypto, a subsidiary of the global cryptocurrency giant Binance, has been granted a full license as a Physical Crypto Asset Trader (PFAK) by the country’s Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti). This achievement marks Tokocrypto as the third crypto exchange in Indonesia to secure this crucial licensure.

Binance solidified its relationship with Tokocrypto by acquiring the exchange in late 2022, after previously being a major shareholder. This move has further strengthened Tokocrypto’s position in the Indonesian market, where there is a surging demand for digital asset trading.

The licensing comes in the wake of regulatory advancements in Indonesia, where a national bourse for crypto assets, the Commodity Future Exchange (CFX), was established in late 2023. This platform, regulated by Bappebti, operates similarly to traditional stock exchanges but focuses exclusively on digital assets. The introduction of CFX and the stringent licensing requirements are responses to the burgeoning interest in cryptocurrency among Indonesian investors.

Tokocrypto’s CEO, Yudhono, expressed pride in this accomplishment, highlighting the significance of becoming one of the few exchanges to navigate the rigorous regulatory environment successfully. “We are proud of this achievement to become the third exchange to receive the PFAK license in Indonesia, in a market which has 35 prospective crypto exchanges registered with Bappebti,” Yudhono stated.

This milestone not only solidifies Tokocrypto’s compliance with Indonesian regulations but also sets a robust example for other exchanges striving to meet the stringent standards set by the authorities. As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, Tokocrypto’s licensure is a testament to its commitment to providing a secure and regulated trading environment for its users.
