Vavilova revealed the heartbreaking news in a recent Telegram post, detailing the emotional toll that the legal proceedings and media attention had on their lives.

The couple first learned about the pregnancy on August 25, 2024, while in Paris. Vavilova described the overwhelming mix of emotions she felt upon discovering the news, but the joy quickly gave way to stress and fear as Durov faced legal troubles.

In her message, Vavilova explained, “I discovered I was pregnant while Pavel was still being held, and we were in such uncertainty. When I found out I was enceinte, I wanted to share the news with him, but he was unreachable.” Over the next month, the couple navigated the emotional rollercoaster of Durov’s legal battle, which they believe contributed to the tragic outcome.

On October 4, 2024, the couple received the devastating news that their baby’s heart had stopped beating. Vavilova said the stress of Durov’s high-profile arrest and subsequent investigation was too much, remarking, “The pressure was too much for the little one.”

Pavel Durov’s arrest came on August 24, 2024, when French authorities detained him in relation to accusations of insufficient content moderation on Telegram, specifically regarding the spread of child pornography. Durov was held for four days before being released, with French officials maintaining that his arrest was based on the platform’s role in failing to prevent the circulation of harmful content. Durov’s brother, Nikolai, was also implicated in the case.

French President Emmanuel Macron defended the arrest, stating that it was not politically motivated. However, the incident has drawn widespread condemnation from free speech advocates and the broader crypto community, who view it as an attack on Telegram’s policy of protecting user privacy.
