Norway sovereign wealth fund has expanded its Bitcoin holdings to $149.48 million, reflecting broader corporate trends in Bitcoin adoption as a hedge against economic uncertainty.

Norway sovereign wealth fund, NBIM, has significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings, now totaling approximately $149.48 million, or 2,446 BTC. This marks an increase of 938 BTC since the end of last year. According to Vetle Lunde, Senior Analyst at K33 Research, this rise likely stems from automated portfolio adjustments rather than a deliberate strategy to increase Bitcoin exposure.

If NBIM had intended to make a substantial shift in its Bitcoin investments, the move would have been more direct and sizable.

This increase in Bitcoin holdings aligns with a broader trend among corporations, influenced by key figures like Michael Saylor of MicroStrategy. Companies such as MicroStrategy, Marathon Digital, and Coinbase have all bolstered their Bitcoin reserves, signaling growing confidence in Bitcoin as a tool for diversification and risk management.

NBIM’s approach could set a precedent for other large institutions considering Bitcoin as a means to manage assets and hedge against economic uncertainties.
